Step 3: Understand the Logic [1 Min]

An Impulse–Imbalance pattern is a two-candle formation that signals strong directional momentum.

  • Imbalance Candle: The first candle shows indecision — small body, large wicks. This signals that buyers and sellers fought, but no side had control.

  • Impulse Candle: The very next candle shows strength — a large body with little or no wick. This confirms one side took control and pushed price strongly in one direction.

The rationale: When indecision (imbalance) is immediately followed by a decisive impulse, it often marks the start of a new move. Traders use this as an entry signal, aiming to ride the strong momentum.
