'Account' in the Trade Rule Block

Fetch balance, equity, or free margin from your account to use in trade rules for risk management and strategy control.

Updated over 4 months ago

Purpose
The Account data type lets you fetch key values from your trading account, such as balance, equity, or free margin, to integrate into your strategy logic. This is useful for risk management, trade sizing, or adapting strategies based on account conditions.

How It Works
When selecting Account in the Trade Rule block, you can choose from:

  • Balance – The total funds in your account, excluding open trade profits/losses.

  • Equity – Your account balance plus any floating profit or loss from open trades.

  • Free Margin – The available margin left to open new trades after accounting for current positions.

Adjust
In the Adjust section, you can modify the returned value by:

  • Adding or subtracting a set value.

  • Multiplying or dividing by a number.

This allows you to create flexible comparisons (e.g., “only trade if equity is above 110% of balance”).

Use Cases

  • Preventing new trades if free margin is too low.

  • Adjusting position size based on account equity.

  • Triggering actions if equity drops below a defined threshold.

Tip: Using account metrics in your logic can add a safety layer and keep risk under control.
