Profectus.AI recently deployed a major upgrade to our saving logic, making project saves highly robust. Seeing a completely blank canvas is now extremely rare. If it happens, it is usually a localized browser display error, outdated cache from a recent platform update, a canvas positioning issue, or an account login mix-up rather than a lost file.
Actionable Steps: If you load a project and the block tree is missing, follow these exact steps:
Stop clicking. Do not add any new blocks, inputs, or variables to the blank screen.
Zoom out and scroll. The blocks might simply be visually out of view. Zoom out completely and scroll around the canvas to see if they are hiding off-center.
Close duplicate tabs. Ensure you only have Profectus.AI open in one single browser tab and on one device.
Hard refresh. Press
Ctrl + F5(Windows) orCmd + Shift + R(Mac) to force the builder to reload without using cached data.Clear cache and cookies. Because we regularly push new features and updates to Profectus.AI, old browser data can sometimes conflict with the new version. Clear your browser's cache and cookies, restart the browser, and log back in.
Common Mistakes (What NOT to do):
Do not click "Save". If the canvas is blank and you save the project, you risk overwriting your actual strategy with an empty file.
Do not open a copy. Do not duplicate the blank project in your library, as this can overwrite the original source file.
Do not start rebuilding. Wait for support to investigate the logs first.
Troubleshooting Tree:
If the blocks reappear after a hard refresh, clearing cache, or zooming out: The issue was a temporary browser loading error, outdated cache, or canvas positioning. You are safe to continue building and exporting your EX5/MQ5 files.
If the project is completely missing from your library: Verify you are logged into the correct Profectus.AI account. Sometimes users accidentally log in with a different email address or use a Google Single Sign-On (SSO) login instead of their original email. Also, double-check all other projects in your library to ensure the file was not accidentally renamed.
If the canvas is still blank after checking all the above: Proceed immediately to the escalation boundary below.
Escalation Boundary (When to contact support): If the canvas remains empty, do not attempt further fixes. Open the chat widget in the bottom right corner and send us the following exact details so we can attempt a manual recovery:
The exact name of the affected project.
The approximate date and time you last successfully saw the blocks.
